Andrew “The Wizard” Hollis’s Upcoming Games
Reviews
Always Something Unique
Andrew always has an interesting and fun story to tell. Regardless of the system, he does a great job of working with the players to create an engaging narrative. I’m always looking forward to whatever puzzle or twist might appear in the story.
The Architect of Intrigue: Puzzles, Twists, and Unforgettable Stories
Andrew is, without a doubt, one of the most inventive and engaging Game Masters I’ve had the pleasure of playing with. Over the course of our nine-year campaign, he constantly found ways to make every session feel fresh, immersive, and intellectually stimulating. His ability to integrate mechanics from outside the standard system turned encounters into unique experiences tailored to the moment—whether it was adapting the rules of Betrayal at House on the Hill for a surprise horror sequence or weaving logic puzzles into life-or-death scenarios. His storytelling is masterful, keeping players on their toes with long-running mysteries and deception that pay off in jaw-dropping revelations. I’ve also had the opportunity to experience his creativity beyond the main campaign through four one-shots and an incredible LARP, each showcasing his ability to craft thrilling, immersive narratives no matter the format.
Beyond the mechanics and storytelling, Andrew has a talent for making the world feel truly alive. His puzzles challenge players to think, not just react, leading to incredible character-driven moments that shape the game in unexpected ways. He fosters an environment where decisions carry weight, and where the thrill of discovery is just as satisfying as the battles fought along the way. Whether through haunting plot twists, intense roleplay experiences, or puzzles that force strategic thinking, his creativity ensures that every session is unforgettable. If you ever have the chance to play in a campaign led by him, buckle up—you’re in for an experience that will stick with you for years to come.
Five Stars for the Best Game Master Around!
Andrew is an absolutely phenomenal game master. He brings an unmatched level of creativity, energy, and engagement to every session. What sets him apart is his incredible ability to tailor the game experience to any theme, need, or skill level—whether you’re a seasoned player or completely new to tabletop gaming like I was.
I came into my first game feeling unsure and a little intimidated, but Andrew made it incredibly accessible and met me exactly where I was. He created a welcoming, inclusive environment and guided me through the process with patience, humor, and encouragement. The sessions have been so much fun—full of laughter, surprises, and immersive storytelling.
Whether you’re looking for a one-time adventure or an ongoing campaign, Andrew is the kind of game master who makes the experience unforgettable. Highly, highly recommend!
Great DM who is able to roll with anything!
Andrew is great at crafting a game and story that caters to the desires of all players at the table. One of the groups I played in (with him as our DM) preferred puzzles and RP over combat, so he created ingenious riddles and puzzles and word games for our group to work through more often than we had to face monsters in combat.
He’s also great at managing utter chaos from the party. I once thought up an absolutely wild alternative use of a scroll (vs what he clearly INTENDED it to be used for), and he didn’t even bat an eye when I asked if I could attempt my plan. He had me roll for it, and when I rolled a nat 20, he let me teleport to where I wanted to go, and then he let our party bend the rules a little because we had pre-planned a way for me to get back that didn’t quiiiiiite follow the rules to the letter but which he allowed because it was funny and our party wanted to go along with my crazy plan. Because of this slight deviation, we were able to gather some intel on Tiamat before we had to actually face her at the end of the campaign, and it was a funny and fun scene to play out.
He’s also great at production value. He created puppets for one piece of our campaign, so it would be easier for us to keep track of which NPCs were speaking, and he also created a couple of props for us at various points of the campaign that were mostly just for fun but also to help us keep track of who had which magic items.
12/10: would recommend Andrew as a DM!
