The Rogue DM

He’s been running our online D&D group since the early days of Covid, and it’s been nothing short of legendary. Chris is a master storyteller who crafts epic narratives filled with emotional depth, meaningful character arcs, and worldbuilding that feels lived-in and alive. He has a rare talent for genuinely surprising players with twists and blindsides that makes perfect sense in hindsight, no cheap tricks, just brilliant storytelling that keeps you guessing and invested. Every session feels cinematic. He’s fair and doesn’t pull punches. If our party doesn’t prepare or picks a fight we shouldn’t have, the consequences are real. We recently had to run from an efreeti stronghold atop a volcano in the southern reaches of the Cliffkeep Mountains (players beware), or we absolutely would’ve had a TPK. We still lost one PC after we thought we were safe…but they had followed. The experience has been so good, our group has flown in from different parts of the country multiple times to play in person. Once we met at a brewery for a great game, and another time we we gathered at Chris’s office for a 14-hour marathon session that was the best TTRPG experience i’ve ever been apart of. He engages every player, blends personal stories into the bigger arc, and keeps the game running smooth wether online or around the table. Chris is the man! His NPC voices are solid!

Chris tells a compelling narrative and is always open to discussing with his players what they want out of the game and is willing to adapt scenarios to ensure everyone at the table gets to participate and have their preferred playstyle met. His maps are always interesting and engaging. His voices and npcs are funny and memorable. He follows the rule of cool a fair amount and is patient and understanding of new players.

Chris is one of the greatest DM’s I have ever played for. His knowledge and quick wit make him a great story teller as able to adapt to the chaos that is TTRPG’s. His rulings are fair and keep the game fun. Lets the party have great control over the adventure while still keeping us on a path forward for the story. If you haven’t played before he is a great DM for beginners, or very experienced players as well! Always a good time when you roll with the Rogue DM!

If we die in the Blue dragon’s entry maze to a bunch of kobolds I’d be very sad.

I love playing with you man, games are challenging fun and surprising. Can’t wait for the holidays to end so we can get back to gaming.
