I have been GMing and playing D&D for around 18 years and have worked with both new and experienced players. To this day there are few things I enjoy more.

I believe a GMs role is to help characters tell their story. Because of that, I like learning from character interactions and creating opportunities where characters can shine.

In home-brew, I tend for an “amusement park” style of world building where players roam a sandbox and interact with various “attractions” (story arcs) they show interest in. I often use folksy themes, however I have a strong preference for horror imagery which creeps in now and again. I have extensive experience with improvisation and I like to bring that to bear in my games. I’m also an avid Zelda nut and incorporate puzzles where I can, but will adjust depending on party interest and response.

My main goal is to ensure everyone is comfortable and having fun. I hope I can be your GM someday soon!

A fantastical DM

Ian’s attention to detail and creative story telling makes him a spectacular DM. He’s the most adaptive DM I’ve ever had, handling small and large groups, keeping the story interesting and makes sure everyone has a major part in it.

Ian does a good job at catering to new and experienced players alike, and has a good sense of when to bend the rules where appropriate but never too outside of the box where things get crazy and out of hand.

If you’re looking for a good interactive story, and want to play a smooth running, fun but challenging, game of DnD, Ian is what you’re looking for.

Ian’s storytelling, world building, and npc creation are absolutely superb. As beginners, he provided our group with campaigns and encounters that were easy to follow and learn from. As our group became more engaged with the game, we moved to more complex campaigns with deeper storylines that always had us itching for the next session.

Ian is one of those DMs that will have you thinking about how fun the last session was, and excited about how the next session will go, while you are at work the next day. He is quick to adapt to how the party is playing, and ensures that combat and story flow in an enjoyable and entertaining way. Whether it is a dedicated campaign or a one-off, I highly recommend him.

Leave your regular life and drama at the door, an experience with Ian is like none before. If you want serious game play with a DM that is patient and will keep you on your toes, Ian is the DM for you. I had the pleasure of having my first DND experience with Ian and friends, truly it was like none other. I would consider myself a novice and still do, but Ian laid the foundation for my DND knowledge. If you like amazing animation, great gameplay and unforgettable characters you should join his campaign. The only reason he’s not still my DM is because I don’t live in the same city anymore. His character voices will have you on the edge of your seat and he always brings 110%. Ian is a man that cares deeply for his craft. 11.5/10
