Clark Wilson

Game Master
I'm a 1st generation D&D player, starting with the Basic D&D Boxed Set in 1977 when I was a kid. Since then, I've GM'd over a dozen different game systems, organized LARPs, and run games at conventions for close to half a century. I try to foster a relaxed playing style, favoring fun and game flow over strict rules lawyering. Most of my former players have gaming stories they still tell years (or even decades) later. Creating those stories is my goal as a GM; let's make some together.

A brilliant talent for making something from nothing

May 17, 2025

Clark has the uncanny ability to spin an adventure out of nothing more than a couple of questions from his players.

In roughly 40 years of gaming, I have never seen anyone as good at creating on-the-fly adventures that feel like he put hours of thought and setup into.

As a campaign-style DM, he creates a fully fleshed out world that makes it easy on a player to start thinking “I wonder what if…”. If that happens, just ask him, and you will probably see what I mean.

Mashups welcome

May 7, 2025

I’ve been gaming with Clark for more than half my life, and he’s the most flexible and creative GM imaginable. Pictures this: a low-level Padawan from the Star Wars universe goes through a black hole in an escape pod. She crash-lands in a strange world, and when she emerges two groups are in a pitched battle over salvage rights, and their weapons are like nothing she’s ever seen. This is how my character Vivi entered the D&D world, joining a group that adventured into epic levels. To this day, PCs and NPCs feel like real people.

That’s not the only thing Clark does well. He runs Call of Cthulhu with a combination of horror, suspense, and over-the-top humor. He ran Star Wars as a LARP long before they introduced their own system. He is fantastic with several superhero TTRPGs. His flexibility, quick wit, humor, and sense of fairness and game balance all guarantee your gaming experience with him will be exciting, rewarding, and well worth your time.

And just one more thing: because his GM style promotes collaboration and teamwork, you may walk away from the table with new friends.

Nearly killed me with Diablo. Would do it again!

May 3, 2025

When playing with a guy who’s been a DM for nearly 40 years you’re bound to make quite a few memories, Like how he was able to set up a boss fight with Diablo in the dnd universe! When we got to him our rogue killed most of his minions by tricking them into holding a bandolier of makeshift grenades, I decided that it would be a good idea to call the literal Lord of Terror to provoke him. I was a epic paladin with nearly 700 hit points and in one round he knocked me down to around 230… I did survive this but I was definitely playing the curb your enthusiasm theme in my head during this time, but after the fight I got to have Diablo’s arm to get it turned into a spear that destroys fiends and undead, and I’ll do it again because that was really funny in hindsight! I honestly have a ton of stories like this because of him. So playing a game from him would never be boring.

World Builder

Having played with home as GM for many years, I can say he was excellent at his world and characters. He kept their motivations separate and sometimes even secret for years. Clues for discovery come.come together sessions later. You will be glad to play with him.

Clark is an exciting gm, crafting compelling stories and intriguing characters. Planned or off the cuff, the game will keep you involved. When he he smiles, life is about to get VERY interesting.
