The props were a nice touch: everyone has figures and dry erase maps now, but actual aged parchment clues are a step beyond just printing off a word doc with papyrus font. Asaphiel’s character folder has all his handouts saved in it forever.

When you said “The steward’s handwriting is common, but not like you’ve ever seen in these parts” and handed me a ledger page written in a different dialect, I felt genuinely bad for him. I went into the game with assumptions that I’ve never even thought about until you gave us a good reminder that NPC’s can exist in the world on their own and be real-life relatable. I hope he’s not in the dungeons for fraud 🙁

A note for future players: Bring adventuring gear, do not just buy rations and extra daggers and go places; there will be traps and the puzzles will be hard, you might not figure them all out or roll well enough for all the bonus clues. Sometimes failing a roll will be advantageous and succeeding will be misleading, so pay attention to the result description. If they describe something, it has significance somewhere. When you DO inevitably get into trouble, the ladder and extra climbing spikes you carried all the way up to the temple will be worth the trouble.

Great NPC’s, world feels alive. Funny DM and good person. Great ‘work ethic’ for a DM.

Whether it is puzzles, shops, or dungeons, every encounter with Cherry is intentional and well thought out. While many DM’s make it easy to sit at a table and roll some dice, Cherry uses the perfect blend of vivid imagery and props to take you away from the table and drop you into a whole new world of fun.

Have you ever picked up your dice excited to succeed, how about being excited to fail? Because with this guy you will be. Prepare for tough but fair challenges, a reap what you sew experience, and finaly prepare for fun characters and world building. Also I can attest getting a wax sealed envelope with some flowery character, specific handwriting within, is some of the funnest you will have reading!

He is the incarnation of chaos and will make you enjoy every second of it. He can turn a combat with undead into a dance-off with literal gods. Goofy nature contrasts thoughtful and deep world lore building. He does the title of Dungeon Master right.
