Its Good to be Rad:

The neon buzzes like a tired wasp above the marquee. The crowd pours from the theatre into a sticky August night — the smell of buttered popcorn, the thrum of a distant boom box, the soft hiss of a soda machine. Someone laughs about the ending and a car stereo bleats a synth riff down the block. Your six characters step away from the theatre glow, arms full of ticket stubs and the warm static of a movie still in their bones.

A sudden wind that doesn’t feel like the night arrives: a low, keening rush that sweeps up loose flyers and the last curl of a cigarette. The alley to their right looks like the backside of town — graffiti, a sputtering lamppost, a dumpster that smells of old fries and secrets. A smear of light opens above the alley; the air tastes metallic, like a storm pressed into a bottle. Ten feet away, the world ripples; the alley becomes a ring of impossible color, folding in like the crease of a photograph.

One heartbeat later, the ring inhales — a soft, patient pulling that becomes irresistible. Ticket stubs lift like frightened moths, a hot dog roll tumbles end over end, and you, ordinary people — laughing, grumbling, fumbling with keys — are drawn forward as if the street itself remembers they belong somewhere else. If anyone tries to step back, they feel a hand of wind tug at their spine and the ground tilts like a stage prop.
