*This is a two part one shot please make sure you can attend on March 3rd and March 17th*
If you’ve ever wanted to dip your toes into gothic horror without committing to a full campaign, this is your sign.
Death House—the infamous opening chapter of Curse of Strahd for Dungeons & Dragons—is not your typical dungeon crawl. It’s a slow-burn nightmare wrapped in creaking floorboards, whispering hallways, and secrets that do not want to stay buried.
You’ll explore a seemingly abandoned townhouse where the air feels too still… the nursery isn’t as empty as it should be… and the walls may be listening. Every choice matters. Every door could be safety—or something waiting in the dark. It’s tense. It’s cinematic. And yes… it’s dangerous.
Character Creation Guidelines
To survive the horrors within, you’ll create:
-
Level 1 characters (fragile, brave, and very mortal)
-
Any official race or class (Players Handbook 5e 2024)
-
Standard array
-
Starting equipment from your class and background
Because this is a horror-focused adventure, characters who:
-
Work well in a team
-
Have a reason to investigate strange happenings
-
Aren’t afraid to step into the unknown
…will shine the most.
Clerics, paladins, and other divine classes bring powerful tools against the darkness—but clever rogues, resourceful fighters, curious wizards, and even wildly optimistic bards can be just as vital. Survival here isn’t just about damage output. It’s about smart choices, trust, and nerve.
Bring a character who has something to lose. Bring someone who would hesitate… and then step forward anyway.
Expect immersive storytelling, atmospheric descriptions, meaningful choices, and moments that will have the whole table holding their breath. Whether you’re only a few games into D&D or a seasoned adventurer craving something darker, this one-shot delivers suspense, teamwork, and just the right amount of dread.
