This adventure, intended to run through levels 3 through 12, begins in Xhorhas, progresses to Ank’Harel, then moves into a new location: the Netherdeep, described as “a terrifying cross between the Far Realm and the deep ocean”. Under the watchful gaze of Ruidus, twisting the fate of those who can change history, adventurers seek to release a forgotten champion of the gods, thought destroyed but instead awakened in his prison in the depths of Exandria.
Logistics: 27 point buy. Starting Equipment plus 200 gp.
Style: I like to play the rules as written. Play testers and the game designers spent a tremendous amount of time fine tuning to make the game a fun and balanced experience. I want to be as close to that as I can. If I miss something, I don’t mind being corrected afterwards. I may have a reason for changing a specific rule, but I’ll point out that it’s something different so you and your character will both know that “something is weird.”
Be respectful to everyone at the table! Leave real problems out of our pretend game! DM will be the final ruling on all disputes. The gaming table isn’t the place to level up and equip your character. I will be available to help, just not during the game. Most importantly, this is an escapist game intended for the party to shine like heroes so… HAVE FUN!
Disabled Veteran (Navy)
I started playing TTRPG’s around 25 years ago with some weird homebrew thing then got “enlightened” to DnD 3.0 and progressed through 3.5, 4E, Pathfinder 1.0, and 5E. There’s been some dabbling in GURPS, Masquerade and Starwars, but I like 5e the most. I believe Rules As Written (RAW) were playtested enough by experts that they should be used and only deviate a little so one homebrew character doesn’t overshadow others. I do take liberties as the DM, but it’s usually for player benefit. I’m not dictating a movie. We are collectively telling a story and hopefully making a memory.
DnD Feats:
I was part of a campaign that had lasted for over 13 years.
Around college age I ran a game for about 24 hours with a break for about 6 while we slept.
I won a pre-release copy of R.A. Salvatore’s Timeless A Drizzt Novel by creating and submitting the backstory of a level 1 character.
