Terrible Red Dragon

Game Master
5.0

Arthur “Terrible Red Dragon” Prospero is a writer and storytelling Dungeon Master from ‘the old school.’ He is known for extremely deep world building, and coming up with voices for every NPC.

Arthur is a second-generation gamer, as his father was there for the very first games of Chainmail, D&D, and Arduin. After playing his first RPG at six years old, Arthur has been more or less playing or running games nonstop for 35 years, including during his deployment with the Army in the Iraq war. Arthur is well-known in the Bay-Area convention world, and his ostensive group “The Chairborne Rangers” has more than 30 “members” spanning 3 states.

While Arthur’s first love in gaming is Dungeons & Dragons (any edition before 3rd), he has been deeply involved in Call of Cthulhu, Paranoia, Rogue Trader, Warhammer FRP, and BRP Star Trek. Along with these inspirations, Arthur follows a number of comics and obscure film/literary pursuits, and he holds two history degrees; all of these guarantee a unique and organic perspective in his games which are never modules, but always personally-crafted experiences.

Arthur believes that gaming is actually a nascent art-form, and works to elevate the standard of Table-Top RPG’s with his own arrogantly humble contributions.

All of my ttrpg gaming is defined by: before TRD and after TRD. This GM changed my D&D life.

You know you’ve got a 5 star GM when every campaign with every other GM you’ve played with since leads inexorably to “You know my old GM…” followed by story after story about something truly memorable from years-long adventures, be it unique house rules for 2nd edition, interesting antagonists, and even escaping a dragon’s lair by beating him at a rigged game of cards “thank god I made my roll!”. If you want emersion, world building, personas, theater of the mind, and grand adventure; Terrible Red Dragon is for you.

TLDR: Hire this GM for grand adventures!

Stop your search here for you have found your game master! I can’t say enough great things about Arthur’s ability to craft unforgettable adventures for his players. The stories he creates are clever, unique, and never predictable. You will be completely immersed in the worlds he brings to the table and you will not soon forget the experience.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

Arthur’s impressive acting range! You will see him transform before your eyes into the NPCs you encounter. It’s magical, amazing, and occasionally terrifying.

Arthur’s ability to run any type of game. CoC? Delta Green? Paranoia? Fate? Cypher? OK, maybe you want old school D&D? Something else in mind? He is a master of many. He understands the draw of many systems/genres and will bring out the best of each.

Arthur’s fantastic creativity. His creative mind never ceases to amaze me. Whether it’s the cleverness of the game itself or his ability to immediately pivot and improvise when his players do the unexpected, you won’t be disappointed.

And not to worry, if you’re sort of new at this or maybe just a quieter player. Rest assured that everyone at the table is heard and “gets their turn.” You won’t ever be left out of the journey.

Seriously, he’s fantastic. Play in his games and thank me later! Or don’t thank me, but just play in his games. You will love it.

I always try to get in Arthur’s games. He concocts unique and eccentric characters and stories. He manages the mood and pacing exceptionally well, usually while staying in character. If he is running it … I expect you will enjoy it.

Immersive, theatrical, leaving you with a thirst for more!

A truly immersive Dungeon Master. Part storyteller, part chaos gremlin, he doesn’t just “run” a game, he directs a fantasy blockbuster of a game.

With handcrafted costumes, props, well planned storylines, evocative voices and dramatic storytelling, he turns every session into an immersive experience transporting players deep into the depths of their adventure.

If you’re looking for a table that is a portal to another realm, and you’ll never leave without a story worth telling, this is the one for you.
