The one-shot was a trial by combat, so inevitably some of us died, but Charlie slipped us back into the action by allowing the deceased characters to then play one of the arena monsters! I had a roller-coaster of feelings: doing well as my character, then not doing well as my character and finishing the session off with a pretty cool double-death blow as a monster. Of course DnD is awesome, but having a GM that can turn dying midway through the session into an inconvenience elevates things!
Charlie is always fun, knowledgeable, and full of creativity, his world that he’s built for the one shots and games I’ve played with him have been outstanding to see the story he tells through his games!
We had booked a one-shot for a group of seven for my birthday. There was a mix of new and experienced players which he handled very well. The theme was one point for what we asked for. The props, battleground props and figurines really added to the experience. I would definitely use him again!
Thanks Charlie for the amazing game! Great lead in story, especially for a one shot, to introduce us to your game world. Great, fair gaming all around the table for the entire session. I really enjoyed that you provided opponents for the defeated players to pick up, giving everyone the opportunity to participate beginning to end, & everyone left smiling. As a new player that just enjoyed my first one shot, Charlie is super engaging and offers a great experience at the table. He’s quick to offer help outside the game, and I have no doubt that the upcoming weekly campaign will be a blast. Can’t wait!
