Hi there! I've been running ttrpgs for over 15 years now, including afterschool programs and professional team building events. Most of my experience is with D&D 3.5 and 5e. I prefer to run homebrew adventures in my own setting, and I focus a little more on roleplaying than tactical combat. Experienced players and newcomers to the hobby are equally welcome 🙂
If there are no open spots left for my games, send me a message and I'll let you know when I schedule a new one-shot or campaign.

Chris has taken our group of 5 people who didn’t know each other at first and run us through a campaign in an intricate home-brew world. He knows his DM mechanics well and sessions flow smoothly even when our group is going in three different directions at once. But what makes him stand out is his mix of s running a technically strong session, having some great ideas of his own, and being willing to go down paths (literally and figuratively) that the group takes him even if that wasn’t his original plan. I love how he started the session by having us create a backstory and do some roleplaying in session zero. I thought that would be just “flavor” but months later he pulls out a detail connected to something we said there that make the game just come alive. We are lucky to have him as our DM!
My party and I have been galumphing around Iluria Mr. Maher’s home-brewed world, complete with its own pantheon as well as the usual geography history, politics, and the like, for 15 months now, and have barely scratched the surface. I don’t know how many groups he has run through this world, giving it parallel histories, but it’s enough that my fellow idiots and I can’t phase him with any course of action, no matter how inexplicable. Our group contains veteran players and novices, and he keeps us all running on all cylinders. Hire the man, and then contact me to borrow my Thousand Praises for the GM (his claws are sharp, and the forest knows his name) List. You’ll want it.
Chris and I arranged a two-day (12 hour) 5e one-shot in his bespoke setting of Illuria. There were 8 players connected by various familial relationships aged 13 to 50+. The campaign was exciting and Chris made sure that it would be resolved satisfactorily within the time alloted. Something this group had rarely been able to accomplish. I highly recommend Chris as a flexible GM and experienced storyteller.
Chris is extremely knowledgeable about D&D. We had many conversations about creating characters as well as the preparation work needed for an excellent adventure. I really appreciated his knowledge and guidance to allow me to shoot my friend in the foot with a bad roll!
Chris is a wonderful GM! He has the great skill of bringing out the unique creativity of each player no matter what their experience level is. He is very patient and supportive with new players and has a great sense of humor that he brings to his campaigns. He puts lots of time and heart into his campaigns, demonstrated by his wildly entertaining NPCs and cool world-building details. He has a lot of background knowledge too! I would 100% play with Chris again!
