You know that you’re special. You can do things that these commoners envy if they could even dream off. That hasn’t put food in your belly though. You know you need some income. These rations won’t last forever and don’t taste great.
There’s a guy in town that everyone knows and always has an inside track to what people want. When they say, ‘I know a guy’ he’s the guy. The cook at the Last Candle Tavern, Mick is a large soft spoken human that everyone loves. You need to see Mick. He’ll find a guy with deep pockets and a need to fill.
Sure enough, as soon as you walk up to the back door of the kitchen, Mick sees you, “hey! My friend! I was just thinking about you. I think you’ll like this,” he shuffles over to a pot with his newest concoction and pours a bowl of its contents. Whatever is in it is fantastic!
Before you get a chance to tell him why you’ve come, he says, “I think I have a job for ya, if it’s something you’re interested in. There’s a dwarf merchant, Burin Silk-touch, that’s been complaining about missing shipments. I believe I can set up a meet between you guys. Meet us here tomorrow, and you guys can talk about it.”
Logistics: Party will be Level 1; 24 point buy.
Style: I like to play the rules as written. Play testers and the game designers spent a tremendous amount of time fine tuning to make the game a fun and balanced experience. I want to be as close to that as I can. If I miss something, I don’t mind being corrected afterwards. I may have a reason for changing a specific rule, but I’ll point out that it’s something different so you and your character will both know that “something is weird.”
Be respectful to everyone at the table! Leave real problems out of our pretend game! DM will be the final ruling on all disputes. The gaming table isn’t the place to level up and equip your character. I will be available to help, just not during the game. Most importantly, this is an escapist game intended for the party to shine like heroes so… HAVE FUN!
